Frequently asked questions

What is the grill made of?

It's made in Argentina from special refractory concrete in a beige textured finish, with a refractory floor, back and inner sides in the fire area, and enameled grates and grease trays.

Can I use wood or charcoal?

Both. Keep the fire on the refractory floor, never on the grates, and keep the flames below the front lintel. The hood and chimney carry the smoke up and away.

Do I have to assemble it?

It ships on one pallet (64.2" x 40.9" x 47.6", 2,293 lb) as precast pieces with an installation kit, and is assembled on site. You can assemble it yourself, or hire us to assemble it: email info@firewoodoven.com for a quote.

How do I take care of it?

Paint the outside with exterior latex paint about once a year. Never use lighter fluid or put the fire out with water; let it die down on its own. Clean the enameled grates with a soft sponge, water and dish soap, never a wire brush. Near the sea, remove the grates when you're not using the grill.

How is it shipped?

Shipping isn't included in the price: email info@firewoodoven.com or use Request a Quote (/pages/sb-request-quote) for freight to your ZIP code, or pick it up at our Toa Baja warehouse.
